How can you help?
Everyone can help the children!
There are many possibilities to care for orphans. Start with the simple thing - pray and learn more about the problem, and get to know specific children.
1. Pray for all of the orphans, for My Home staff and everyone who in one way or another makes a difference in the lives of the children; pray for the authorities, and the legislation, for sponsors for the children and families, and for your heart to have more room for God.
2. Accepting a child in your family (adoption, fostering, family-run orphanage).
3. Helping adopting/fostering families
4. "A gift of your heart" - mentoring (friendship with a child, correspondence, "week-end" family)
5. Informational facilitation in placing orphans into families
6. Early orphanhood prevention (working with teens in schools, and orphanages, with youth and young mothers; presentations and events promoting healthy life style)
7. Education and development (hobby and sports clubs for children)
8. Medical treatment, recreation for children; special care for chidren (special needs children)
9. Sharing your time (leisure time activities for the children: excursions, hikes, trips, picnics, creative contests, holidays).
10. Supporting needy families with many children to prevent divorce and children's being placed in custody
11. Working with risk group families (alcohol or substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, etc); helping social services
12. Working with orphanages graduates (helping to contact the biological family, to find a job and a housing, to study)
13. Material help to children in the orphanages (clothing, household items; assisstance in finding sponsors)
14. Financial help to the children (in any of the listed activities).

stories of adoption
You may have the desire to support a child all through his/her life but have no capability to do so. The law provides an option of a fostering family where a child is placed for a long term (up to 18 years) without formal adoption. Practically, the state hires the parents as personal mentors, and even pays them a wage.
